What is Natural Law?

Natural Law is the intelligence and infinite organizing power that silently maintains and guides the evolution of everything in the universe.

Natural Law is responsible for the orderly functioning of atoms and molecules. It is the silent intelligence in every seed, which makes a tree, a plant, or any living being grow. Natural Law also governs the movement of the earth, moon, stars and all the galaxies.

Natural Law is the cosmic administrator, the administrator of the universe. It administers everything in a perfectly orderly way, without mistakes.

Laws of nature

Laws are needed to maintain order. One example of a law of nature is gravitational force, or gravity. Gravity attracts things and keeps them in place. Without this law of nature the whole universe would be in chaos.

Natural Law is not man-made. It has been there since the beginning of creation, long before men walked the earth and it will silently administer the universe for all time.

National laws

We live in a society full of people, all of whom have different needs and desires.

Left to its own devices, society could very easily destroy itself, because of greed, jealousy and other negative tendencies.

For this reason laws have come into existence. They are designed to protect the individual. All these laws have been made because the leaders of the country wanted to maintain a peaceful and harmonious life in that particular society.

These laws are national laws. National laws are man-made laws.

Do people abide by these national laws?

We can see that many people don't. Most societies are full of problems and discord. It seems that people continue to behave badly in spite of what the law says.

Governmental leaders seem unable to stop this. The only solution they can see, is to put criminals into prisons, but the prisons are over-crowded and the crime figures are continuing to rise.

A new solution to an age-old problem

There is a solution to combat crime in any society. This is by enlivening Natural Law in the society.

If the individuals in the nation could be educated to live in accord with the laws of nature, if they could spontaneously think and act in harmony with Natural Law, then they would not make mistakes, or become a burden to society.

There is such a system in the world today, known as "Consciousness-based Education". Students who receive consciousness-based education are trained to enliven self-referral consciousness through daily practise of Transcendental Meditation.

Self-referral consciousness is Transcendental Consciousness, a state of absolute peace, silence and orderliness, present at the source of thought. This is the source of all creativity, intelligence and organizing power within each of us.

Self-referral consciousness is the home of Natural Law, the silent administrator of the ever-expanding universe.

When the individuals in the nation are trained to contact this home of Natural Law within, then their lives spontaneously start to be lived in harmony with all the laws of nature.

Then their desires will become more fulfilled, they will be happier, healthier and therefore spontaneously more law-abiding citizens.
