Article "What is Transcendental Consciousness?"

Transcending means: "going beyond". It is going from one level to another.
In case of the mind, it means going from one level of mental activity to another. When you have thoughts, your mind is active, when there are no thoughts, then your mind is silent, non-active.
Transcending means going from the active level of the mind to the silent, non-active state of Transcendental Consciousness.

Difference between Transcendental Consciousness and deep sleep

When you have a thought, you are aware of something. When you are asleep, although you have no thoughts, you are not aware of it.

This is different from Transcendental Consciousness. The difference is in being aware of your inner silence, or not. The difference between the sleep state of consciousness and Transcendental Consciousness is, that during sleep your awareness is asleep and during Transcendental Consciousness, your awareness is awake.

In Transcendental Consciousness your awareness is fully awake. You are fully awake within yourself, without a thought. This is pure silence, or pure awareness. It's like an unbounded ocean without waves.

Source of thought

This unbounded ocean of awareness is the source of thought. From this source all your thoughts arise. It is the fountainhead of all your creativity and intelligence.

If you live your life without being aware of this pure silence, of this source of thought, then you don't live your life in its completeness.

Therefore you need to find a systematic and natural way to experience the source of thought.

Transcendental Meditation

This is where the practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique comes in, as it gives the experience of pure silence, Transcendental Consciousness in a most natural and effortless way.

Thoughts create boundaries in the mind. By experiencing thoughts all day long, your mind experiences only boundaries.

If you regularly experience Transcendental Consciousness through TM, your mind gains the ability to experience both thoughts and the silent source of all thoughts at the same time. Therefore you experience both boundaries and unboundedness.

Unboundedness is freedom, it's expansion. It gives room for more possibilities in life.

Stay on top of any situation

Once you're fully established in Transcendental Consciousness, you will stay on top of any situation.

You will maintain broad awareness whilst focusing sharply and find solutions to problems, where others get stuck.

You will become more successful and accumulate less stress.

Your immune-system will be strong, which means better resistance against disease and more energy.

Your relationships will improve. You will be enthusiastic, helpful to others and an inspiration to all who are surrounded by you. You will become a radiant light for your family, your community, your country and for the world as a whole.

That's why the experience of Transcendental Consciousness is the most important thing that anyone could ever have.

It is that thing about which the great philosophers of all time have spoken, but in the absence of a natural and effective technique, it remained mainly a philosophical concept.

Reclusive life not needed

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi brought the experience of Transcendental Consciousness to millions of people in the world and emphasizes that you don't need to abandon your possessions in order to possess the Transcendence.

You don't need to live a reclusive life in order to develop your consciousness. You don't need to change your lifestyle.

His Transcendental Meditation technique (TM) is for all those who want to get more out of both values of life, 100% of the active level and 100% of the non-active level of life. This non-active level of life is the basis of all your activities. It is pure silence, the unified field of consciousness and at the same time the source of all organizing power.

Nothing more desirable

There is nothing more desirable than the integration of Transcendental Consciousness into your life.

This is done in an easy and most natural way through regular practise of Transcendental Meditation. Ideally it should be implemented into education, when the children are still growing up, to increase their intelligence and creativity and to prevent them from accumulating stress.

Transcendental Consciousness is the source of all intelligence and therefore every student should be able to take recourse to this unbounded ocean of pure intelligence within them.
