Yoga and Transcendental Consciousness

Recently Yoga has become very popular in the world. If you ask someone what Yoga is, they will probably say that it has to do with exercise to help you stay fit and healthy.

However, this is a rather one-sided view of the reality of what Yoga really is.

Yoga is a Vedic word, meaning unity, or one-ness. Yoga is that state in which the differences have dissolved. There is neither duality, nor multiplicity, it is one-ness, unity.

The real purpose of the practise of Yoga is to gain Unity Consciousness, a state where everything is seen in terms of the "Self". This is supreme enlightenment, a life in bliss and fulfillment.

The "Self" is Transcendental Being, a state of pure singularity at the source of thought. This pure singularity is the state of Yoga.

Where can we find this?

This unity is not far away, it is within everyone of us.

Yoga is on the level of our mind which is beyond all thoughts. It is on that level of our mind, where it has transcended (gone beyond) all activity, even beyond the finest level of thinking.

When there are no thoughts whatsoever, what is left is consciousness itself. This pure consciousness is Transcendental Consciousness.

It is our Self, which knows everything by virtue of being conscious of its own consciousness.

Transcendental Consciousness is the state of Yoga. Contacting this field of unity within ourselves is the practice of Yoga.

There is a way to effortlessly and naturally contact this state of Yoga.

Nature always follows the Principle of Least Action. Therefore the best way to reach this state is a technique which is completely natural and effortless.

Today this technique is available through Maharishi's Technology of Consciousness. Scientific research has shown that the Transcendental Meditation technique is the most effective technique for development of consciousness. This is because it follows the Principle of Least Action, just as nature does.

Practising Yoga has become very popular through the physiological exercises of Yoga Asanas. If we add to it the direct experience of Transcendental Consciousness, the state of unity in ourselves, then the purpose of Yoga practice is fulfilled.

Once the state of Yoga gets infused into our daily life, we will invariably experience that our life is lived more in accord with the Laws of Nature.

Once we start the practice of Yoga through the TM technique, our life will be more supported by the infinite organizing power of Natural Law.

Life according to Natural Law is life without resistance or obstacles, where desires are spontaneously fulfilled.
